Gateway Park Trail Work Day

F.W.M.B.A. trail steward/builder, Matt Kocian, has scheduled a trail work session for Saturday, 12/4, 8:00am. The trail is looking great and Matt is trying to get as many people out as possible to complete the job. Just Arrived: Custom Bib Knickers And LS Jerseys

Long sleeve jerseys and bib knickers have arrived just in time for cooler weather. We have sizes small through XXl. The jerseys come in two different cuts: race cut or club cut (better known as chub cut). Obviously I'm modeling the chub/club cut. Get while it's cool and they're hot. 20" Travel Bike Update

I've been riding the travel bike for a couple of days now and in the words of Jeremy at Gallus Cycles "it's f-----g amazing!". Rides great and handles well. I added some Eastern curb monkey 20x2.3 tires capable of 100 psi and it rolls faster than you would expect. The gear is a little too high with the 50t ring and an 11/21 cassette. I am going to put on a smaller ring and have the chainstay dimpled for clearance. In addition, Jeremy will build a custom front rack, a rear derailleur guard to protect the hanger in transit and a bottle cage braze on under the down tube so I can run a custom frame bag inside the main triangle. After that, it's off to Spectrum for powder coat. According to my calculations, the bike should fit in a Samsonite spinner hard case measuring 29"x19"x12". I located the case new on Ebay for $135.00. 20" S&S Coulped Travel Bike

Looks like my 20" wheeled travel bike is starting to take shape. The idea is to have a travel bike that packs up into a small case that is capable of being ridden on city streets as well as gravel roads, fire roads and light single track. The bike is being built by Jeremy at Gallus Cycles . This isn't an ordinary everyday build for Jeremy so it has taken a fair amount of collaboration and head scratching to get it to the point that you see in the photos. The frame is loosely based on the old Burro Bikes . Stay tuned as it comes together.

The Outlaw Chef takes delivery of his new Surly Steamroller

Terry Chandler, The Outlaw Chef took delivery of his new Surly Steamroller and quickly put 200 miles on it in 14 days. I hear he has given it the nickname of "The Chuck Wagon".

The Outlaw Chef (Terry Chandler) Builds A Single Speed

Here is a trick Surly Steamroller in the works. Terry Chandler, better known as the OUTLAW CHEF, has hand picked every component on this bike. So far this is what he's got: Surly Steamroller frame 56cm, Phil Wood bottom bracket, Paul's crank 170mm with 46t chainring, Phil Wood High Flange FSA hubs laced to Velocity Deep V 36 hole rims. Here is what is on the way: Chris King rasta headset, White Industries 18t freewheel, Panaracer 700x 32 T-Serve tires, Nitto mustache handlebars. Stay tuned for pics of the final product.

Long time Colonel's friend and customer Richard Chambers decided to replace the Schwinn Cycle Truck he had as a kid. Richard did his research and decided to go with the Ahearne Cycle Truck (http://www.ahearnecycles.com/). Joseph Ahearne and his crew knocked out this candy red beauty, featuring the Work Truck frame upgrade, Dibond panel base for the rack, and Rohloff dropouts. Stay tuned as we build this baby, while Richard tries to get back his old paper route.
