Seven Cycles Refurb and Rebuild-Nice!

We see plenty of nice bicycles pass through the service center that deserve blog acknowledgement and I plan to post more images and descriptions of those in 2012. I'm getting a late start but here is a bike worth recognizing. This Seven Elium SLX belongs to Phil Bright long time member of the manly bulge bicycle club (MBBC). The bike was stripped down and sent back to the Seven factory for complete refurb which includes brushing the titanium, cleaning the carbon, checking alignment, installing new decals and headtube badge and applying a custom decal whit Phil's nickname (Spillbert) on the top tube. In addition, Phil purchased a new titanium Seven seatpost and stem. Top it off with rebuilt shifters, overhauled hubs, new cables and housing, Lizard Skins DSP 2.5 bar tape, new chain and Continental GP 4000S tires. Looks like Phil is ready for the season. Thanks Phil!

IT'S 1 MONTH AWAY FROM THE 5TH ANNUAL GREAT SOUTHWEST BIKE SWAP MEET !

We will feature product each week from now until March 4Th(Swap Meet date), from the companies that show up with sweet deals on great products. The brothers Vivion, Chris and Jason will contribute this year as they always have. They represent the Mavic brand of wheels, clothing and many high end bicycle products. As always in the past we will have raffle tickets for sale that will feature prize winning drawings every half hour. Last year each "prize bag" was valued from $30 to $50 worth of cool bicycle goodies. Not bad considering the raffle tickets sell for $2 each or 3 for $5 ! The final drawing to be held at 1:30 or 2:00  will be a brand new set of Mavic wheels to be determined by the Mavic reps! You can actually win a new set of wheels worth hundreds of dollars for the $2 price of a raffle ticket ! Please go to the WWW.GREATBIKESWAP.COM website for all the details on getting involved with us at this stellar event. There are several booth spaces left since we added more room this year. This should be the biggest and best Swap Meet that we've had so far. Please call us at (817)924-1333 to reserve a Swap Meet spot today and leave without all your old parts and thousands of dollars in your pocket.

LOVER OF GRAVEL GRINDING AND SALSA CYCLES...MEET TRACY SORENSON !

New customer and new bike owner Tracy Sorenson has picked up 3 new Salsa Cycles in the last 3 months here at Colonel's. She's pictured here with her latest model the Salsa Vaya 2, last month it was a new Salsa Fargo! It just makes us wonder what she's gonna get next month! Tracy is not a bike collector, she rides these bikes in events such as the Dirty Kanza in Kansas a 200 mile dirt road race and the Leadville 100 mile mountain bike race in Colorado! She owns and operates an electrical engineering firm full time and is going to be a new mother in this new year of 2012! Not to mention she had to have her gall bladder removed a few weeks ago. So if you think you're busy and gettin' stuff done, just know that Tracy has got you covered!
Look for Tracy on a dirt road somewhere in the central USA near you!

MOUNTAIN FLYER MAGAZINE NUMBER 23 NOW ON SALE AT THE SHOP !

The new Mountain Flyer magazine just hit the store! Number 23 features a great piece on 26ers and are they dead? As well as a must read article on bikepacking that should help answer all the questions we get on the Surly Pugsley, like "what is that ridiculous bike for?" and as usual the best photos and ads you'll ever see in a cycling rag. It's the "Gucci" of cycling magazines and it's for mountain bikers...so we love it, read it and sell it here at Colonel's. So come on in and leaf through the new issue, but if you have it for more than 5 minutes we have to charge you $8.95 for "your new" copy..."this ain't Barnes and Noble!" Ha Ha !

5th annual GREAT SOUTHWEST BIKE SWAP

The 5th annual GREAT SOUTHWEST BIKE SWAP is coming Sunday March 4th 9am-3pm. Stay tuned for registration details.
