More like, 24 hours of success!! I'll keep this brief... Whole Foods Racing consists of 4 racers in the Expert/Pro class: Brian Waits, Eric Loffland, Chris Comisky and Josh Clark. Chris was the only rider on our team that used a multi-speed drive train. Eric was on his Bianchi single with a steel fork. Brian rode his new Salsa Selma single with a Reba fork. I rode my Orbea Lanza 29er as a single speed (38x20) with a new Salsa brand steel fork.
I started the race with the la-mans start and passed all of the riders then finished the 11 mile lap in first. Off to a great start! After all of our riders were through the course I set out to get the fastest lap of the event which kept us ahead of the competition by almost 15 minutes.
After a long night with wet, muddy, cold conditions and zero mechanical issues (thank you single speeds) we realized our goals by winning the whole damn thing... More laps than any team or individual!! That one felt good, after the 6 pack!
