Hemp Smoothie

There's a new smoothie king in town and his name is Brent Poulsen. Brent is a professional triathelete who splits time between Ft. Worth and his homeland in Canada. The Cervelo P3 is an awesome tri bike but Brent had never been positioned properly on the bike. After three hours of work Brent was putting out some incredible wattage. If you see him on the road give him a shout. To read more about Brent, including his hemp smoothie recipe click here to visit his Blog.

Are those even LEGAL??? If so, you should try my BROWNIES..... That give new meaning to SMOKIN' the Competition.

VOTE GREEN. VOTE RON PAUL!

Now it would be great if he could actually finnish a race once and awhile and if he does without all the excuses of why he didn't do good and maybe he should cut out the drugs one of these days. Also the negative attitude towards other competitors is also something he can keep to himself

Anonymous said...

I totally agree with that last comment. There's no room for a guy like that in this sport! There are plently of other Pro's out there who don't churp other races. I cant believe any company would ever sponsor a guy like that.

Anonymous said...

To the last two "bloggers". The guy has to pull out of one race and now you consider him a failure.
You apparently have no respect for the amount of effort this guy puts in. He does not train to "finish" he trains to "win". Further he races how he trains. Anyone can train for a few months and likely finish a 70.3, it takes years to finish where this guy is at. Which leads me to ask you whats your best placing in a 70.3.

Secondly having a flat is not an excuse it’s a fact of life and if you even remotely train you should know that.

I trained and raced with this guy, he’s a true athlete, and lives and breathes performance.

Next time you want to slam someone try doing it on race day and not a "blog", I wish both of you "armchair triathletes" all the best.

BP I hope you read this.

What does all this have to do with Independent Presidential candidate Ron Paul? Check out his blog at: http://ronpaulblog.com, he is a true American Liberty Athlete in the Pursuit of "Hemp"iness!

PS Do you know the 2009 Toyota Prius Hybrid, can get 72 MPG on a 62/38 mix of unpasteurized goat milk and Peak Anti-Freeze. Another government lie to keep us dependant on oil.

Free yourself, go green or go home!

Well since I'm an "armchair" triathle even I know and as do all the other Pro's that at a 70.3 distance you carry a spare tire. And pull out of one race...guess you don't know him that well, it seems like almost ever second race and every race has an excuse of why he didn't win! 19th at Texas 70.3 is far from anything exciting...i could train for 1 year for that distance and have done better. and he's been racing for how many years now, 10 or so and his excuse for a bad swim in muskoka is because his wetsuit wasn't on right...lol don't worry what my best placing at a 70.3 but show up at ITU race and come race the Big Boys. Oh wait that's why Brent stopped racing ITU races is because he couldn't. I believe his words were something like...I'm not going to race ITU until I know I can run with the other guys and since then has only done 70.3 because he can't run with us and you can run slower at a 70.3 and still come 19th. and funny how he isn't going to clearwater...and this bike store is sponsoring him. they're going to give someone a bike and race wheels who drafts in almost every race he's in. and lastly you must not be very good either if you're training with him.lol

Guys, Guys Guys:

We all need to step back here and focus on the the subject at hand. These Hemp Smoothies are making us lazy, have you seen "Dude, Where's My Car?" This is the same issues we are having.

This reminds me of 1984 in the LA Olympics, I trained for 4 years with Ron Kiefel, Clarence Knickman, Davis Phinney and Connie Carpenter. We went without boozes, except an occasional Coors Regular for Carbs, No Sex, No Drugs and only an touch of Rock n' Rock. If you count Phinney and his Flyin' V, playing bad VH covers. I went without all these thing to finish last, 4 years of no fun, to finish last.

Point blank why train, when you can just make excuses. I don't know much about this guy, but from the picture he looks fast to me. Leave him alone, he's doing better than me and I've been to the Olympics. Go USA!

PS What are you a bunch of draft dodgers? Go back to Russia.

Throw my 85 year old grandma in some bike clothes and put her on 10thousand dollar bike and she'll "look" fast also.
Point is that I feel bad for colonels bike shop for sponsoring a cheater. I was at Austin 70.3 and anyone on the bike saw him drafting and even the other Pro's were talking about it after the race. This isn't the first time either!!!

Brent Poulsen said...

i dont do drugs, i dont cheat, and i didnt draft at Austin 70.3. I have the utmost respect for all athletes in any sport. I work a full time job to make ends meet and i am lucky enough to have the opportunity to go for a few races. Anyonmous maybe you think i had a bad swim at Muskoka becuase of my wetsuit but how about the fact that i wasnt able to swim for a few weeks because of a crash.
I even finished Buffalosprings 70.3with an infected toe.
anonymous do i know you?
if so man up.
Best Regards,
Brent

Anonymous = TROLL. Forget about him, Brent...it's not worth it.

Anonymous said...

For what its worth, I barely know Brent and when I have contacted him via other open forums he was more than happy to share his knowledge in the sport and very humble at the same time. He never once disrepected me during our conversations. He is a great triathlete and should be respected as such. Its unfortunate "anonymous" cant reveal himself/herself, obviously for a lack of self confidence of their very own. For the record I am not a good triatlete, but love the sport and actively participate in local events where I have run into Brent. He greets everyone and is always open to Q/A.

Anonymous=means he can't do anything himself, so he has to bring other people down. Heis not worth worrying about. Keep up the good work Brent!!

Anonymous said...

Anonymous: I think your comments are very low, you obviously have no self confidence. Added to your lack of self confidence is the fact that you will not even identify yourself. This clearly demonstrates you are a horrid triathlete and and even lower individual. You obviously don't know Brent well, because if you did you would never think this way of him. He devotes himself to training, and has genuine respect for all other triathletes no matter their age or level. So why don't you confess and tell us what is really upsetting you about this individual, personally I sense jealousy. And also try spell checking and proof reading your post next time, you obviously need a grammar lesson or two.

Anonymous said...

That last comment was from Sherry in Canada. I ran out of room and couldn't leave my name. Go Brent Go, make us proud back home! We miss you!

Anonymous said...

Anonymous, You talk about drafting yet you claim to be an "ITU pro" and all ITU does is draft, come on kettle. As far your comment on 70.3, most real Pros unlike you will pull out after a flat most of the time (Crowie in Singapore 70.3 last year and many other pros at various races) some would rather not risk injury trying to get back into a race where when you are down 2-3 mins. there is very little chance to get a pay day. Having done Clearwater last year most of the pros were the biggest offenders and were part of the pelotons. I by no means am near a pro but I have trained with a few and trust me there is a common trait, they work their butts off as does Brent. So how did you place at Austin? Was Brent in front of you? I PR'd how about you?

Cheers mate,

D

Yeah, will see who is left holding the bag when Lance gets a 3-peat in Paris 2009.

Hey ANONYMOUS Lance has won the Tour 8 times!

Anonymous said...

Do your research Anonymous, Lance has won 6 times on the big stage under his Spandex®.

How many Tour wins does Anonymous have?

Word!

Anonymous said...

Anyone find it funny how anonymous claims Brent makes excuses.....yet it seems he is making them himself.

Anonymous said...

Well I see we have raised quite a discusion here over the weekend.
First things first. Give Brent a drug test and I garentee you it comes back positive. I've seen him use.
second, I've never met somone who is such a baby when it comes to racing and pulls out so easy. oh i got a flat...ok deal with it and you should be carying a spare. why does it mean that you lost 2-3min changing it that ur race is over? what are you going to loose, one spot maybe?!? oh i got pushed at the start of the swim so i just gave up...these things happen to people at every race and they don't give up.
and dont start chirping us guys who race ITU cause we're putting in 10-15hours of training more than any of you and when you can run a 30min 10km off the bike let me know. also like i said..wasn't it brent who said in one of his blogs that he wasn't going to race ITU anymore until he can run as fast as the rest of us. again he whimps out and races where he doesn't has to be as fast.

Anonymous said...

wow, as an outsider here on this convo it must be kind of hard for colonel bikes to sponsor an athlete being accused of all this things. colonel bikes has always been so good to me when I go in there and it's to bad this is happening. I just hope this Brent Poulsen guy isn't taking advantage of them.

You have seen him use.......what....when.....where...and if it was obvious howcome no one else has ever said anything

Brent Poulsen said...

Hey Anonymous,
i dont even know what to say to your posts. So i will try and answer your questions the best i can. I wanted to work on my run to run so i could make money at ITU races and that means running with the best, that doesnt mean simply getting into the race, i want to run with the guys at the front before i spend the money to travel to a destination event. I am sorry i wasnt born as gifted as you must be but i want to work on weaknesses. And to be completely honest with you i didnt see you sign up to run 4miles at 5min mile pace this morning with the rest of the very fast runners in town?
I am not sure if you know much about computers so i will give you a little run down. There is someone currently tracking all the IP addresses and tracking down the computer and location this came from which then results in determining the user and there information.
Secondly making serious aligations about me using drugs is serious. have you heard of the term "Defamation of Character".
If the false comments your are making in fact cost me any sort of current sponsorship, or cause any other problems with pending sponsorship you can be at fault.
All that being said your not very bright because technology these days can figure out exactly where the comments are coming from and it can pin point who was using the computer.
So anonymous, come clean before you receive a letter from my attorney Tc Mazerek. All i want to know is what i have done for you to say these things?
Best Regards,
Brent

anonymous you can cant run 30mins for 8k you dosh bag!

Anonymous: you are making some serious allogations about Brent. Who are you to start these rumours and false defamation of character comments. You obviously are not an athlete because athletes do not get jealous and post rediculous comments about people on a blog. Ahtletes respect the devotion and committment other fellow athletes (like Brent) have to the sport and understand at end of the day someone has to win. You on the other hand are a jealous asshole, who could never run a 30 minute 10k if your life depended on it. I have a master's degree in mental health issues and you seem to have distinct characteristics of a person with a personality disorder. I think you need drugs anonnymous, some to help control your borderline personality disorder. I know Brent well, and know for a fact that he would never do drugs. Why train for 25 hours a week and then take drugs and risk your life? When Brent does track down your IP address and bring his lawyer to see you personally, I will also suggest that he bring a phsychologist as well, because you have a lot of issues.
Chris

Anonymous said...

Anonymous, Again you validate my point. It is "easier" to run a 30 min 10k (which I highly doubt you can) when you suck someones wheel and don't race on your own.

Again post your splits from Longhorn since you were there.

D

Anonymous said...

guys, guys, calm down here.
everyone here is taking this way out of context.
to start with, sorry i can't post my splits for longhorn as I was only watching my wife race. sorry to disapoint everyone.
second, this started out that I don't like athletes who always make excuses at races.
this is supposed to be a sport that we do because we love. we don't spend 25 hours a week wrecking out bodies to not finish a race because of something little. i know old guys who have been doing this sport for over 20 years and have never not finished a race and will walk accross the finish line if they have to. isn't that what its about it finishing. who cares that we might be 2-3 minutes slower because we got a flat...isn't whats important that we know that we would of been that much faster if we didn't have that happen and not what everyone else thinks or sees.
all im trying to say is here is this athlete who does have talent but just take things as they come and isn't it more satifying knowing that you went all that way, put in all those hours of training and eventhough the race might not have the way you wanted, you finished!
regardless people on here seem to be taking this way to serious and hopefully you can see where i was trying to come from in the begining and we will leave it at that.
Chris B.

Brent Poulsen said...

Chris B,
SO why the drug comments? And the drafting Comments? And apparently i am rude to other athletes? Do you have any proof of all this or was it just made up?
Cheers,
Brent

Anonymous said...

you didn't even race longhorn, you pansy!! All talk anonymous, and a shitty triathlete, that's all you are!

Anonymous said...

well im not even going to respond to that last comment because i guess that was Defamation of Character and I should be tracking down your IP address but i wont becuase clearly you weren't following along when I said I don't race 70.3 distance so that's probably why I didn't do longhorn but anyways.
brent I will not say anymore on here and will leave it at my last post and maybe some day you and I can sit down for a coffee and i will try and share with you my point of view.

Anonymous said...

This anonymous guy making these accusations is pos. I hope you find out who he is slegs and post his info on this site....the tri-world is a small one...

Anonymous said...

maybe some people need to mind their own buisness because making threats to this guy is just as bad as what he's doing and could get you in trouble as well.
he said he was done so the rest of us should let it go as well and leave it between this chris guy and brent to talk about. making threats to him and putting him down is putting us at that same level.

It is easy to sit back an accuse this guy of blood-doping, but what about Lance? What about Floyd. Both are teaming up for the '09 Tour. Are you?

Anonymous said...

Floyd is suspended from any competition!
